At present, the anion exchange resin is widely used in various field. The production process of anion exchange resin including chloromethylation and amination. There was a bad effect on the workers'health in the traditional chloromethylation way because of the using of chloromethyl methyl ether, which affected the sustainable development of this industry. To get a environmentally producing progress, we discussed the possibility of using a kind of chloromethylation reagent which is lower toxic than chloromethyl methyl ether.Chloromethyl methyl ether (directly or indirectly), chloromethyl ethyl ether, 1,4-dichloromethoxy butane (referred BCMB), chloromethyl isoamyl ether (referred CMIE) were used as chloromethylation reagent respectively. The results showed that chlorine chloromethyl ether system is most effective and environmental friendly. The factors of the chloromethylation were debated. Using the dichloromethane as the swelling agent, chloromethyl methyl ether as chloromethylation reagent, tin tetrachloride as the catalyst in the chloromethylation of the crosslinked polystyrene microspheres (referred to white ball). The reaction temperature is 18? in 20h. The product had a chlorine content of 22.46% through Hybridflux-Mohrtitration method, were characterized by infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). After the amination, the anion exchange resin had a ionic exchange capacity of the resulting amine anion resin was 3.70 mmol/g.Paraformaldehyde, thionyl chloride and two kinds of alcohols were used respectively to synthesize BCMB, CMIE. The product were characterized by FTIR.The chloromethylation of polystyrene (PS) were performed using BCMB generated in situ, CMIE generated in situ as chloromethylation reagent respectively. The effects of each factors were examed. The optimal reaction conditions were gotten. The chemical structure and composition of the products will be characterized with infrared spectrum and Hybridflux-Mohrtitration method. The results showed that the CMIE generated in situ system had the chlorine content of 19.57%, the ionic exchange capacity was 3.21mmol/g after the amination. The CMIE system generated in-situ systerm had the chlorine content of 18.00% the ionic exchange capacity is 3.03mmol/g after the amination. The anion exchange resin was prepared by amination reaction. The chemical structure and composition of the products were characterized with infrared spectrum and elemental analyser. The effects of each factors were investigated. The optimal reaction conditions were:m (CCPS):m (dioxane):m (trimethylamine solution)=1:2:4, the is at 8, reaction at 40? in 17h.
