As a link between oil field production and consumption, oil tank farm is a huge energy using system which is composed of oil storage tank, transfer pump, heating furnace and the other energy using unit according to certain topological relationships. Energy consumption in production increases with the increase of oil tank farm reserve scale. However, for this kind of complex and dynamic energy using system, the present research only aims at main energy using equipment such as transfer pump, which is short of systematic and comprehensive. Therefore, applying mature simulation theory of process system to simulate system parameter corresponding to oil tank farm and using thermodynamic analysis method to evaluate and analyze its energy utilization have strong significance to enhance fine and overall management in energy using and excavate system energy saving potential. The main contents of this article include:①The current energy situation, development trends of oil tank farm and research status of energy using are elaborated in detail.②The theoretical foundation of energy flow structure model is introduced, including the main energy flow structure model during the development process of process system engineering, steps of process system analysis and sequential modular approach.③Mature modeling and decomposition theories of process system engineering are applied to system simulation of oil tank farm , based on the three-link energy flow structure model, energy flow model of oil tank farm which integrates technological process of oil tank farm and energy using feature in practical is established.④Energy using analysis models of equipments and systems for oil tank farm are established, which combine three-link energy flow model and three-boxes models of thermodynamic analysis, then evaluation and analysis criteria of each energy using process and system are presented.⑤Computer programs of system simulation are compiled with Visual Basic, which reflect node parameter distribution situation in sending and receiving oil process and analyze the influence on temperature of oil storage tank.⑥According to the established evaluation and analysis criteria, energy using situation of oil tank farm is analyzed and energy loss distribution is obtained.
