Sheet metal component is widely applied to mechanism, chemical engineering, metallurgy and so on. The development of sheet metal is a important link among the manufacture. Its developed precision directly affect both stamping forming performance and forming quality. Therefore, The study of curved surface piece's approximate development possesses greatly practice meaning. The theory and means of curved surface's development has gone through that the study of the developable surface firstly and then non-developable surface. The developable surface such as cylinder, cone has more matured and has been widely applied. The developable surface may unfold no-error and don't have the problem of developed precision. So the study of curved surface's development mainly aim at non-developable surface. The developed error mainly adopts shape, length and area error and the different way of error value are adopted based on the different developed system.Both method of triangle grid based on geometry model and inverse method of finite element based on physics model are popular now to the study of non-developable surface. This work analyzes theory of the triangle grid method and accomplishes curved surface's procedure development through UG/Open API. Also this work gives the rule of error transformation In the way of inverse method of finite element, The work discusses the key problem and program system of blank development using inverse method of finite element. Through this process, corresponding to study the changes of its error, comparing these rules with the triangular grid method, a lot of conclusions were found.One important part of the work is CAE analysis of Sheet metal forming which has two research aspects. One is Simulation System Mechanism including choosing solving format, materials and craft and dealing Pressure-lap. The other is post-processing system including the forming limit diagram, thickness map, forming force and rebound analysis and so on. Through studying case, this work discusses the whole process of sheet metal forming CAE and analyses its forming performance and quality. The new computing formula of rebound rate which was put may quantificationally denote rebound. At the same time, the work gives the way of reducing rebound. In the course of in sheet metal forming simulation, the design of sheet metal blanks is a key step. Thus, The way that receives sheet metal blanks using inverse method of finite element needs to increase the cushion to meet the needs of forming. This paper has done a study to explore and research above contents and gives the optimization method of a blank sheet metal forming.The techniques of Unigraphics redevelopment were studied. The achievement of triangular grid development and error evaluation was built on Unigraphics3.0 platform by utilizing Unigraphics redevelopment tools:UG/Open API, MenuScript, UIStyler, and Visual C+ +6.0. The paper achieves sheet metal forming and post-processing analysis through DYNAFORM 5.5.
