Steel wire rope is an important kind of space spiral product, which has characteristics of high strength, flexibleness and stability;has been widely applied in many fields, such as mechanism, architecture, transport, communication, aviation and aeronautical, etc.With the development of steelrope's demanding, the tide of complex structrue become higher and higher.The coustomers aren't satisfied with typical and fixed product, but want what are made for themselves, according to the physical truth that they are facing.How to meet the demanding of customers, the problem becomes more and more important.After studing on the theory of the variant design and assembly model, in this thesis, the variant design on the basis of the assembly mode for steelwire rope has been researched on in order to saving the problem. Major researches are as follows:(1) From the structure of steel wire rope, the cell called component which constitutes steel wire rope has been found;(2) According to conception of assembly mode, the assembly mode for steel wire rope on the basis of components has been established.With the help of Unified Odeling Language, the class diagram for steel wire rope has been established;(3) Giving the solution of geometric constraint problems, and prove it;(4) Configuration Management System for steel wire rope has been eatablished to slove the variant design problem;All the research productions have been proved, and can be competent for designing steel wire rope.
