Vibratory stress relief is a technology method to eliminate residual stress with vibration. This paper analyzes the practical significance of VSR (Vibratory Stress Relief), pointing out the advantage of VSR than the traditional methods, such as heat treating and natural aging. The article also describes current research findings on VSR technology at home and abroad, pointing out the some pending problems of VSR, which will be researched in this paper.VSR technology, in essence, is to eliminate the work piece internal residual stress, increase relaxation stiffness and dimensional stability of the work piece, so the thesis is started with the conception and production mechanism of residual stress, establishing residual stress mechanical model. The paper obtained dynamic stress condition of making the internal residual stress gain macroscopic release by using the microcosmic mechanics method to analyze the dislocation and stress field of its crowded group and studying the relation between the elimination of crowded group and stress release under the external force. The article also analyzes the influence on metal components' fatigue endurance after VSR and the applicability of VSR technology.The most important technology of VSR process is the choice of technological parameter and evaluation of effect with VSR. Change of structure dynamic parameters is analyzed under VSR processing. The article also describes the most optimum choice principle of three key parameters in VSR process—vibration force,vibration frequency and vibration duration, and the parameter curve evaluating method is discussed deeply in this thesis.According to the essential functions of VSR equipment, the paper indicates the design point of VSR equipment, and designs detailed circuit and programs of the VSR control casing. Schematic diagrams of correlative function modules has been drawn in Protel and simulated with KeilC51 and Proteus. A control system of VSR has been designed with PCL-818L in the LabVIEW environment.In the end, the deficiency of this issue and immature work has been mentioned; some standpoints and suggestions have been given in the future research.
