If the ultimate strength of joints of HSS does not meet our request, it needs to be stiffened. To do this, there are many ways, increasing thickness of the main tubular, adding thimble to the main tubular, adding cushiony plate, inner ring-stiffened plate and plate of joint are included. People have done many researches on the above-mentioned ways, quantitative results are acquired. Through theory analysis and engineering practice, some of them are quoted by steel tubular structure codes and design guides. The researches on inner ring-stiffened plate are not many, especially on joints of RHS-CHS. Joints of RC are more and more welcomed by architects, so it is necessary to do further research on this kind of joints.In this paper, researches on T-Joints and K-Joints of RC joints with inner ring-stiffened plate are carried out. For T-Joint, three test components are created. The inner ring-stiffened plate is effective, it has been demonstrated by the test results, which is familiar with the FEM results. This provides a factual basis for the following ANSYS analysis. Many finite element models are analyzed, the affection to failure mode, ultimate strength and stiffness of joints by changing diameter, width and number of the inner ring-stiffened plate to joints with different parameters is studied. As K-joints, the research is carried out only through FEM, changing the parameters of the main and branch tubular, diameter, width and number of the inner ring-stiffened plate, variation of the joints'ultimate strength is summarized.The test and FEM results show that, the inner ring-stiffened plate can significantly increase the ultimate strength of RC joint, reasonable parameters of the inner ring-stiffened plate does not change failure mode of the joints, all of these are analyzed and summarized in this paper, reasonable range of parameters is presented, which provides a basis for engineering practice and it is very useful for both theory and praxis.
