At present,HSS(Hollow Section Structures)has been widely used in engineering,but domestic and foreign scientists don't have enough researches on stability theory of reinforced joints,and the design method of reinforced joints is not perfect.In this paper,the damage and ultimate bearing capacity of stiffened T and Y-type RHS joints with the longitudinal connecting by experimental simulation and numerical analysis.The specific research contents include:(1)Static tests were carried by on 8 T-type RHS joints connected with longitudinal plate(including 6 T-type RHS joints with stiffening and 2 T-type RHS joints with non-stiffening to the same chord size),and for test phenomena and the experimental data are analyzed in detail,and the failure modes and ultimate bearing capacity were compared by different lengths of stiffening plate.(2)The ABAQUS finite element software is used to simulate the test nodes,the welding size and the non-linearity of the material.The results are compared with the finite element results,and the ABAQUS finite element simulation is used to analyze the accuracy of the nodes and effectiveness.(3)Based on the results of a large number of finite element models,the proposed formula for calculating the ultimate strength of T-type RHS joints connected with longitudinal plate was obtained.The accuracy of the proposed formula is verified by comparing the calculated results of the proposed formula with the experimental results.(4)The ABAQUS finite element software is used to analyze the parameters of the Y-type RHS joints connected with longitudinal plate.The main parameters influencing the ultimate strength and the failure mode were included,width of the chord by the chord,angle of the chord,thickness and length of the stiffening plate,as well as the effect size.According to the parameters result,the change pattern of node failure modes and ultimate bearing capacity were analyzed.
