With the development of modern power electronic technology, the security and stability of power system has become more and more extensive attention. Relay protection testing instrument performance will direct affect the safe operation of power grid. But the self-identification of relay protection testing instrument is difficult in practical. For this reason, this text proposed relay protection test calibrating equipment, in order to test relay protection testing instrument accurate and convenience.The device consists of data acquisition card and PC computer, the device using DSP as controller of data acquisition card. The computer can fulfill up data treatment and control to DSP, research and achieve relay protection test calibrating equipment. The device use programmable analog timing to test the action time of relay protection test device. The DSP chip TMS320F2812 and high precision ADC chip ADS8515 were used in order to perform data acquisition. Using synchronous acquisition skill, it can realize real time measurement to some basic parameter of three-phase voltage, three-phase current and power etc. Meanwhile, it has the function of harmonic analysis. The acquisitioned data is transferred to PC through the RS232 and dealed with by the PC software. The thesis brings forward the detailed schemes about the complete design, hardware circuit and software program. This text completed hardware design and software design.Firstly, this paper introduced the development and methods of relay protection test calibrating equipment. The paper expounded the measuring principle of frequency, harmonic, voltage, current and other electrical parameters in detail, and the harmonic measurement using FFT algorithm. Secondly, introduction the overall design of the program. Then according the overall design, achieved the various functional modules hardware design,including modules which data collect, data process and communication, give parts of circuit diagram. In addition, this theme gives the flow chart of the mainly program. Finally, by experiments, based on the analysis of the error, some advices were given. The practice indicated that the device has very high measuring accuracy, friendly interface, easy to operate and convenient extension. So it has the very board application prospect and the practical value.
