With the fast development of relay protection technology,new generation relay protection device,especially smart relay protection device integrate protection,measurement,control and communication function together,and form a complete and complex relay protection device,in addition,high reliability requirements for relay protection system need lots of complete and effective test to cover to ensure the relay protection device quality.But very low efficiency and low quality manual testing has been far from meeting the test needs.Recently test technology for relay protection device has certain development,low rate of automation and low of test coverage,poor generality,poor automated testing management level and other aspects disadvantage still exist.Based on the clarification of test scope the analysis of automatic test request for relay protection device,and also investigation current testing equipment technology for relay protection,thereby,research and design of intellectual and automatic SmartT&Ms test system for relay protection device was raised.Detailed the overall design of SmartT&Ms including the test cases and test requirements traceability management subsystem,test cases dataset subsystem,automated test execution subsystem,fault record management subsystem and the relationship among this four subsystem,which integrated automated test execution and smart test management.And then introduce the design and working principle of SmartT&Ms hardware platform and software system.The hardware platform design section focuses on the intelligent and automated wiring and test platform trailing principle of the relay array controlled by PLC and its implement.And software system section focuses on the workflow of test sequence and test manager,and test data management of test management.Further show and validate the designed test platform form test preparation phase and test automated execution phase via some real test,especially test execution and control interface.The automatic system can meet fully functional and nonfunctional test requirements of relay protection device for conventional substation and digital substation.The proposed automatic system can guarantee the test quality fully and improve the test efficiency further in practical validation and verification testing of relay protection device.
