| As energy sources become less and some policies about scientific outlook on development are published, amorphous alloy transformer which uses less raw materials gains a wide market space. However, the skills of amorphous alloy transformer in our country are limited, and it has faults of high cost and long designing time. So we research and work out an Amorphous Alloy Transformer CAD which includes the electromagnetic optimization design and parametric drawing. The main jobs of this paper are as follow:1. A math design model is established after the hand design method and the characters of amorphous alloy transformer are studied. We use cycling-method to control design variables to compute, select the language of C# to design programs of electromagnetic optimization design, and choose an optimum design by strained conditions.2. We use the language of Visual Basic which responses quickly and operates simply to write and edit programs of the parametric drawing. At the same time, the skills of ActiveX are used to connect the language of Visual Basic and AutoCAD. Then the basic AutoCAD drawings are completed in the surroundings of Visual Basic. The transferred.exe applications and shared databases of proper programs could combine modules of electromagnetic optimization design and parametric drawing at last.3. A related database of Access is used to store and control lots of parameters of transformer, and performers of basic material. Then it is expedient for different modules to visit, transfer and store parameters of databases.While this software system has an instantiate test and all functions of transformers meet national standards, users speak highly of the software because it could reduce the designing cost of 5%-10% and save time from 10 days to 10 minutes. The Amorphous Alloy Transformer CAD is an important part of advanced manufacturing technologies in the transformer industries. That's because it could improve designing levels, save time and enhance competitiveness.
