With the needs of economic construction and the development of transport, the line carrying capacity and the transportation amount are also increasing, and it sets a higher request to the bridge load bearing and running ability. The problem that the existing bridges don not meet the code requirements has been getting more and more common. So how to carry on experimental study and reinforcement analysis on the capacity of the extra wide bridge structure in the scientific and accurate method has become the key to solving the problem. This article unifies the actual project background to carry on the finite element analysis and experimental study on the extra wide bridge structure. Then proposes the reasonable method to the extra wide bridge, in order to apply it effectively in other similar bridges. The main contents are as follows:1.Taking the actual project background as the foundation, establishes the solid model of the extra wide bridge structure, and simulates the overall stress performance of the bridge structure,then researches the stress, the distortion, the support reaction in each kind of situation and so on.2.Taking the earlier period inspection situation of the solid bridge as the foundation, then through static load of the extra wide bridge, researches and analysises the stress, strain and deformation of the extra wide bridge structure in each kind of operating conditions. Then compares with the finite element analysis results, and discoveres the similarities and differences between the two research and analysis results.At last, analysises the reasons for this kind of similarities and differences. It provides a scientific basis for the subsequent analysis.3.Taking the basic theory of bridge reinforcement as the foundation, proposes the reasonable method to the extra wide bridge, and carries on the analysis proof to the reinforcement method. Then provides a certain scientific basis for other similar bridges' reinforcement.4.Through the summary analysis to the experimental study and reinforcement analysis on the capacity of the extra wide bridge structure, proposes some main conclusions. Then points out the future study direction of this article.
