With the development of auto industry and transport undertaking, especially the worsening of traffic conditions, people have put forward a higher requirement for the functionality and performance of vehicle. As the two bus station usually are hundreds meters apart, the drivers had to do the operations of gear-selecting and gear-shifting frequently, which made drivers more fatigue. So, that how to reduce the bus driver's labor intensity and increase the economy and adapting is becoming a problem to be solved. Shifting performance and quality are improved which is based on the domestic and international research experience and on the original EPS system in this paper. So it has the very important theory and application value to study on this subject.The original controlling unit and actuators were retained. In this paper, the hardware of feedback board of shifting cylinder was redesigned on the basis of the understanding to original system, and then programmed with C51 language on the condition of actual situation. Meanwhile parts of program about feedback was modified, which improved the quality of system when shifting.This paper introduces the history, present situation and developing trend of auto industry, then expounds the structure and working principle about Electronic-Pneumatics Shifting(EPS) system. Because of the uncontrollability of air, this paper puts forward a fitting curve method of seeking best shift force, meanwhile that to find the best shift force is to control the pressure in cylinder through the detected displacement of piston and open and close of solenoid valve on the condition of some vehicular pressure. Finallyâ… programmed and debugged for the hard circuit to make sure run normally in the system.
