The shift performance is an important assessment indicator about the comprehensive performance of reducer, and the related test is the most important project of mechanical transmission bench test. A manipulator is used to realize shifting, the shifting force and shifting displacement will be recorded in order to analyze and evaluate the shift performance.This paper is supported by Chongqing “121” commercial vehicle transmission technology support demonstration projects“commercial vehicle transmissions collaborative innovation and key technology research”. Based on large amounts of related literature at home and abroad, different test beds existing on the market with different kinds of structure and control scheme are analyzed, a new mechanical gearbox shift performance test-bench is put up and the measurement and control system is developed.In this paper, the shifting process is analyzed in theory firstly and the synchronization process mathematical model of synchronizer is set up to provide theoretical basis for determining control method and analyzing results.The test bed is divided into three parts: the drive part?shifting execution part and the measurement and control system, the overall scheme and hardware needed are described briefly.Then the control methods of the drive motor and servo motors are analyzed. The configuration process of the G120 inverter and V90 drivers are illustrated and the layout of electrical connection between hardwares is planned. And then the PLC program and the PC interface edited by LabVIEW, and the OPC communication between PLC and PC are illustrated.Finally, the experiment process is made and the reducer is tested on the test bench. And it is verified that the mechanical gearbox shift performance test bed meets the requirements basically.
