With the rapid development of economy, urbanization and mobilization, the demand of traffic is increasing. Urban traffic is facing severe test and challenge. Constructing mass rapid transit has already become an important measurement to develop public transportation system with complete function. In order to fully play an important role as a backbone and total benefit for urban rail transit, public transportation system should effectively link between transport systems. Thus, how to cooperate the development of the rail transit and bus transit has become an urgent task.In the thesis, the coordination of the rail transit and Bus transit is studied from two aspects: the layout of rail transit stations and passengers'travel time costs. Firstly, based on the analyzing the existing mode about coordination of the rail transit and Bus transit, the importance about the layout of rail transit stations and passengers'travel time costs are pointed out. Secondly, the new coordination mode is put forward, which generally considered the layout of rail transit stations and passengers'travel time costs. On the basis, the rail transit distance and the headway time interval are optimized in order to minimum the total cost including operators'costs and passengers'travel time costs. The method about how to calculate the total costs is discussed, including the operation costs and passengers'travel time costs, and the transfer costs regarding four categories of transfer stations on the basis of the probability theory is analyzed. The coordination model is formulated finally. At the last time, through the analyzing of an example, the operation costs and passengers'travel time costs whether are generated under the coordination control or not are contrasted. The conclusion suggests that the coordination mode could effectively decrease the operation costs and passengers'travel time costs, and promote the coordinated development of rail transit and Bus transit. The existing research results are carried on the effective integrative use in this thesis. By this way, the urban public transport coordination theory is enriched, as well as the reference for scientific decision of traffic planning and operation organization is provided.
