Research Of Landscape Design For Rural Communities

Countryside is human being's primary living space, and holds the largest part of the population. Country landscape possesses natural beauty and local color. However, country community landscape improvement lags behind the economy development and living condition improvement of rural area. The present studies are either researches on lager scale country landscape or repetition of the design of city community landscape; as a result, there is lack of better and deeper studies on country new community landscape design. During the procession of urbanization, it becomes a major research project to extending the local color and the culture of the country, and at the same time keeping the improvement of the rural community landscape and realizing the sustainable development of the village. To write this paper, the author dose a site visit and questionnaire survey and consults a number of documents about the subject, and abstracts 8 evaluate factors of rural new community: village dwellings, greening plants, water system landscape, roads pavement, environmental sanitation, history and culture, utilities pipeline, landscape facilities; summarizes landscape structure of the rural new community; provides a method of landscape quality evaluation as well as corresponding design countermeasure; puts the theory into practice. Especially, the study results are applied to the regulation and development program of Xianyan village in Yuhang district, Hangzhou city. This paper aims at exploring the method of new country community landscape evaluation and design, and making a beneficial complement to the landscape design research.
