Tuned mass dampe(rTMD),a dynamic vibration absorber,is widely applied in tall buildings and high rise structures. This device has significant control effect on structure vibration. It has some advantages such as it takes up little construction area, installs and replacement easily.The response characteristics of the structure itself and under rectangular cyclic impulse excitation have been investigated in this paper.Further more the TMD control system is designed by considering the gasification furnace as inertial mass of the system. Make use of the dynamic interaction of the subsystem and main-frame, the feasibility and control effect of the response to the structure is studied under the act of the rectangular cyclic impulse excitation to the structure.Meanwhile the feasibility and control effect of the response to the structure is also studied under the act of the semsic wave (Tianjin wave) to the structure.The main device of this project, gasification furnace, belonged to heavy machinery is about 1440 tons weight and 30 meters high. In design, how to calculate the mutual interaction of frame structures and equipment is of great difficulty. The devices are considered as equivalent loads generally in traditional industrial design. The equivalent loads act on the relevant position directly. The method did not truthfully reflect the mutual effects of the devices to the structure. To this project, if the device considered as the equivalent loads also, the result will be very different to the reality. In this paper, the vibration of the workshop is controlled by considering the mutual effects of the devices to the structure.The main researches are as follows:(1) Structural dynamic characteristics including natural vibrations and mode shapes are gotten by mode analysis of the High-rise reinforced concrete frame structure by using finite element program ANSYS. And the stress and strain to the structure under static loads is studied.(2) Response to the structure under rectangular cyclic impulse excitation and seismic force are studied by ANSYS software. The vibration characteristic of the structure is regarded as the criterion of the control effect. (3) It tries to optimize the passive TMD damping control about the frame structure, optimize TMD parameters to achieve the best effects of vibration reduction, stiffness and damping ratio.(4) After fixing the controlled modal of the structure, the finite element modal of TMD system is set and time-history analysis of the vibration absorption frame structure is done. The contrastive efficiency of damping control efficiency between primary structure and vibration absorption structure is calculated.
