The virtual reality technology is one of core technologies of virtual manufacture,effectively improves the way that people interact with the computer, realistically simulates people's behaviors,such as sight,audition and campaign,has real-time and three-dimensional space performance capabilities, provides the operating environment of human-computer interaction, thereby creating a kind of immersive experience.During 20 years'exploration and research, virtual reality technology has been put in use in many fields,like virtual reality drive exercise for aircraft,ship and vehicle,virtual reality architecture,virtual reality game,virtual reality film art etc. With the rapid development of the internet, the virtual reality technology is becoming a hot of research and application.The virtual reality technology is applied to the water supply system of hydropower station.After the virtual reality technology and water supply system of hydropower station are analyzed and summarized, this paper finishes the design and implementation of virtual water supply system of hydropower station.The system shows better the water supply system of hydropower station, provides easy access to observe and research water supply system of hydropower station for people.The main research work and the relevant achievement are as follow:First of all, this paper reviews the virtual reality, VRML and other related technologies.On the basis of comparative analysis of three-dimensional model construction methods with water supply system of hydropower station, this paper has realized modeling with the plane scene of water supply system using texture-mapping technology; has realized three-dimensional models'building of water supply system equipments.In addition, in order to improve the browsing speed, this paper also discusses VRML scene optimization techniques,such as the modeling code reuse (DEF / USE),prototype package (PROTO) and implementation of model integration using Inline node.Secondly, this paper simulates water folw in the virtual plane scene of water supply system of hydropower station through VRML Animation implementation methods.Through the comparative study of a variety of interactive methods, this paper uses VRML interactive features and scripting language to implement interactivity function of the virtual water supply system.At last, this paper offers a method of combing VRML and Visual Babisc 6.0 software, and transfers spreadsheets to VB, realizes query function of the virtual water supply system through interface design and programming method.The research project will lay a certain foundation for further developing the virtual auxiliary equipment of hydropower station and will play an active role for the virtual design of hydropower stations in China. At the same time, the virtual water supply system of hydropower station designed by this paper is also available for hydropower water supply system of teaching, training and daily operation of reference.
