Along with the development of computer technique in recent years, the VR technology (Virtual Reality, VR for short) which has been applicated in more and more extensively realm including business, education, military, medical science etc, has also developed with each passing day. The VR technology can bring about a virtual environment throughout computer technology. This type of environment could be perceived by human through the sense of sight and touch. It could offer a realistic feeling.In mechanical engineering field, VRML is used for the implementation of the virtual assembly of mechanical products, simulating the assembly, the disassembly process widely. The viewer only need to operate the browser to carry on the multiple perspectives, omni-directional observation of the process. It has the vital significance on product demonstration based on the Web and the works and student's training on maintenance of equipments and so on.Design and Implementation of Virtual Installation System of Turbine is contents of this article. This article, we model three-dimensional model by the Software of CAXA. The virtual installation system of turbine is built by VRML technology and Java. This article mainly completed following several tasks:At first, this article introduces VR technology. It expatiated on the basic concepts and characters of the VR system. It expounded the domestic and overseas status of the VR system. The article puts forward the significance,research contents and innovations of this task on the basic.Then the thesis analyzes the work principles and basic characteristic of VRML, expatiates work pattern of VRML in detail. In the meanwhile the thesis discusses the key technology, besides it, the thesis mainly analyses the concept of the panorama, the route and event system of VRML. Then according to the information in the hydropower station in Xinjiang, we model three-dimensional model of turbine in various parts of the building by CAXA. Through the analysis and design of the virtual installation system of turbine, we make the VRML,Java and JavaScript for the main developing technology. The thesis constructs the environment of virtual and interactive, implementation the virtual installation system of turbine.Discussing modeling,installation and interaction detailedly in this thesis, also having pivotal technique and solving methods in every step. Enumerat some problems which are not solved at last.
