As important equipment and asset in the hydropower industry,the hydraulic turbine generator units are developing towards the direction of high performance and large capacity.The higher requests to the safe and stable operation for the units are put forward.Problem that the traditional equipment maintenance training system spends a lot of manpower,financial and time resources has been increasingly highlighted.It is not fit to ‘sustainable development' idea.The emergence of virtual reality technology points out a new direction for improving the staff's technical level and solving the problem in the traditional training system.In this paper,the virtual reality technology is applied to the development of reusable platform for virtual learning and training of hydraulic turbine generators.Based on this platform,the 3D modeling for hydraulic turbine generator is completed using Solid Works.With the Deep Exploration and Vrml Pad technical softwares,the model files are modified and the models can be optimized.Through the Cortona3 D Active X interpreter in COM components,the virtual interaction of VRML file and the C++ development platform is accomplished.At the same time,the VRML Automation technology is used and the secondary development of related function in MVC design pattern is realized.The reusable virtual training platform of hydraulic turbine generators implemented.Trainees can learn the structure and working principle of the turbine generators through the knowledge training module of this platform.They can also experience the disassembly and assembly process of the turbine generators through the disassembly and assembly training module.Finally,their knowledge points and the steps of disassembly and assembly can be tested with the assessment module.The interactivity,sense of reality and ease of operation of the platform enable trainees to carry out training anytime and anywhere and improve their own business ability.To a certain extent,the successful implementation of the platform can reflect the shortcomings of the traditional training methods that need to be improved and the needs of trainees for the new generation training mode.Based on virtual reality technology,the training platform presents a novel and rich training contents to trainees through visualized 3d model and functional boundary.It has reference value and practical significance in the aspects of training cost saving,staff capability deepening and economic benefit improvement of the industry.
