Vehicle navigation system is intelligent electronic devices which set in embedded system technology, GPS positioning technology, mobile positioning technology and network technology.In recent years,With the improvement of living standards and the automobile industry of national development,The increasing number of private cars causing traffic problems are worsening,Makes the vehicle navigation system into an important part of the traffic management system, which has been rapid development and wide range of applications.Based on this,research and develop a Cost-effective vehicle navigation system and can be accepted by the masses of consumers isparticularly necessary and significance.In this paper through analysis and studies by the status quo and development trend of domestic and international vehicle navigation system, the vehicle navigation system guided by the embedded system theory, combine GPS global positioning technology, mobile positioning technology designed a detailed planning.The main task in this paper is to design and implement a vehicle navigation system,this system is based on Samsung's s3c2410 high-performance microprocessors as the core of the hardware platform,the embedded operating system choose Windows CE which published by Microsoft.The main contents of this article includes the embedded core processor and embedded operating system choice,choose and design the equipment required for hardware,discuess the global navigation system composed of GPS and principle.In the part of software development of vehicle navigation system,focused study of its system architecture,using the Platform Builder development tool complete the entire process of kernel customization,through build the development platform between the development machine and target machine complete the transplantation of the operating system and Bootloader, improve customized operating system, make the embedded operating system which transplant on the target machine enable running smoothly and meet the requirement of vehicle navigation system.
