By the power generation, substation, transmission, distribution and consumption ,composition of electricity production and consumption systems . Its function is a natural energy through the power plant into electricity, and then the transmission and substation systems and power distribution systems will be supplied to the load center. In our power structure, the total installed capacity of thermal power accounted for 75%.Development and construction of electric power industry has entered a large power grids, large units, (special) EHV transmission stage, 600MW and above large-scale generating units will be the main power system unit, 600MW and above the health of units will directly affect the power quality system stability, safe, reliable and economic operation.In this paper, Xinhui Shuangshui Power Plant 2 sets of 660MW thermal power plant design as the basis, a reasonable test to optimize the design of large thermal electric power plant proposed by their own ideas. In ensuring security and stability, reliability and economy, based on the bold use of sophisticated new technologies and new layout, to improve the design of the technological content and level of automation, energy-saving environmental protection and disaster mitigation.Electrical wiring is the main power plant, electric substation designed first and foremost part of the power system also constitutes an important part. Determination of the main cable on the power system as a whole and power plants, substations to run its reliability, flexibility and economy are closely related. And choices of electrical equipment, power distribution equipment configuration, relay protection and control of the means to develop a greater impact.In this paper, completed the main electrical wiring design and economic analysis; the main electrical equipment selection, including the main transformer capacity calculation, the number and types of choice sets, etc.; on the basis of short-circuit current calculation, the distribution device selection and design of relay protection programs; the same time, low-carbon energy saving and green technology are to be reflected in the design.Through the use of advanced design tools and methods, implementation of the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" requirements, design a "affordable, simple system to reduce backup, safe, reliable, efficient and environmentally friendly, people-oriented" part of the modernization of the electrical power plant.
