Under the guidance of construction of low-carbon society, it is necessary means for today's urban development problem to improve the urban intensive degree and construct intensive city. Intensive urban development is embodied in the strengthening of urban function and high efficiency of the system operation. Nowadays, intensive transportation includes not only buses, BRT and metro, but also public bicycle system which is the product of development of contemporary intensive traffic. There is a mutually influence and interdependent relationship between urban transport and use of urban land. The characteristics of public bicycle cater to the mode of intensive use of urban land. And the construction of intensive city's public bicycle system makes both promote and benefit each other.This paper studies the infrastructure, operation and mechanism of public bicycle system in Hangzhou. Using primary research data and literature studies of both domestic and abroad, it summarizes the transportation characteristics, operation characteristics and construction characteristics of public bicycle system.The paper studies the positioning of public bicycle in intensive urban planning and urban planning system. It put forward development ideas and thinking of planning and construction, road facilities, etc. of public bicycle system in the intensive city construction. It bring forward that to match the construction of intensive city, public bicycle should be an important part of intensive city construction for China in the future.
