The research for the wind-energy utilization in the built environment has been the hot topic in the world and has universal significance due to relating to many subjects including structural engineering, wind engineering, electro-mechanical engineering, aerodynamics, building techniques, environmental science etc. Based on the feasibility of wind-energy utilization in the built environment, the wind-energy utilization efficiency about several building forms integrated/mounted wind turbines were studied, and simple structural analysis for these buildings was carried out. Some indexes which evaluate wind resources were first introduced and the characteristic of wind field in the built environment was expounded. Considering the wind resources in the built environment in Zhejiang province, the feasibility of wind-energy utilization in the built environment was demonstrated. After summarizing the results about the comfort of building wind environment systematically, three basic types of building integrated wind turbines were proposed. With the aid of the computational fluid dynamics method, the numerical simulation was implemented on the wind field around buildings integrated wind turbines. Some indexes which evaluate the wind-energy utilization efficiency on buildings with wind turbines were put forward. The wind-energy utilization efficiencies of the three basic building forms integrated wind turbines were discussed. And the factors influencing the wind-energy utilization efficiency were studied so that the placement and arrangement of wind turbines on buildings were proposed, which benefits wind-energy utilization.Besides, in order to improve the wind-energy utilization efficiency, the optimization analysis of the building forms mounted wind turbines was made, and new building forms in favor of wind-energy utilization were presented. Finally, referring to load codes of wind turbines, additional loads on structures resulted from wind turbines were studied. And taking a building on the roof of which wind turbines were mounted as an example, the static and dynamic effect of wind turbines to the structure was analyzed. And after the preliminary study of vibration isolation principle, the valid connection between wind turbines and the structure has been designed.
