The Ministry of Railways brings forward the Chinese Train Control System Level 3(CTCS-3) as the train control system for railway lines with speed of 300 km/h and above and the strategy of DPL (Dedicated Passenger Line) construction in order to satisfy the requirements of high safety, high efficiency and strong market competitiveness for railway system. With the commercial operation of Wuhan-Guangzhou, Zhengzhou-Xi'an, Shanghai-Nanjing and Shanghai-Hangzhou DPL being started, CTCS-3 has stepped into practical application stage. As one of the key equipment of CTCS-3, the CTCS-3 on-board equipment plays an important role for guaranteeing train operation safety. Therefore, how to verify whether the CTCS-3 on-board equipment meets the CTCS-3 system requirements specification is an urgent issue. Railways and research institutes abroad have attached great importance to the testing of on-board equipment of train control system, while the research and practice in this area at home has just begun. Although there are some published ETCS specifications concerning the testing of ETCS-2 on-board equipment which is similar to CTCS-3 on-board equipment, relevant research must be done at home to master the key technical know-hows. Moreover, how to generate test sequence is the key to testing method for CTCS-3 on-board equipment, so it is more important and urgent to carry out relevant research. At present, the test sequences used in the testing of CTCS-3 in Wuhan-Guangzhou and Zhengzhou-Xi'an DPL before commercial operation were generated manually by experienced testers with complex procedure and low efficiency. So research on the generation of test sequences for CTCS-3 on-board equipment is of great significance to improve test efficiency and reduce test cost.This thesis focused on the method of test sequence generation for CTCS-3 on-board equipment by solving Chinese postman problem. And a computer aided generation tool for test sequence generation of CTCS-3 on-board equipment was designed and developed to generate test sequence for field and lab test. Firstly, based on the analysis of the functional testing requirements for CTCS-3 on-board equipment, it is proposed that the optimal generation of test sequence can be converted into the solution of a Chinese postman problem for the case of multi-edge digraph. Secondly, the Edmonds-Johnson algorithm is modified and applied to solve the problem by means of LINGO software. Thirdly, the results were re-optimized to generate the test sequences for the field test. Finally, concerning the computer aided generation tool for test sequence generation of CTCS-3 on-board equipment, such works as software requirements analysis, software general design and implementation were carried out, laying a good foundation for automatic test.
