Research On The Feasility Of West Embankment's Dike Reinforcement In Dongting Lake In Hunan Province

Through analyzing the status and role which Dongting Lake flood is in the situation of the Yangtze River flood defense after the Three Gorges Project being completed,the paper draw conclusions that, West embankment,as one of the 10 focus flood dike embankments of Dongting Lake, is a low standard dike embankment, and can only defense a general floods, meanwhile, there are serious problems such as obvious culverts crossing dike dike seepage deformation and fracture water damage.Once the embankment collapse, it will cause serious loss of life and property, and the achievements will also be destroyed.In order to make dike construction and social progress and economic development in harmony, in order to ensure a planned, orderly flood diversion and storage of water, make full use of the storage and detention role of the west embankment, it is also very necessary and urgent to strengthen the dike-building.The paper analyze the feasibility of the project from the hydrological conditions, geological conditions, engineering and technological conditions, socio-economic conditions and other aspects, and make a conclusion that it is necessary and feasible to reinforce the west dike embankment, and through analyzing various programs, the paper make out feasible engineering measures to deal with various of practical dike danger, implement the Bank Strengthening Project, and on the basis of it, analyze the influence the project have on the migration and erosion, make money estimate and benefit analysis, and finally work out the project profitability and sensitivity analysis of the national economy.The conduction of West Dyke Bank Strengthening Project will effectively enhance dike embankment the ability of flood protection, achieve orderly flood, reduce the economic losses when flood,and effectively ensure the safety of the local people's lives and property.
