Hydraulic equipment is one of the most important parts of machinery industry, such as construction machinery, manufacturing machinery, marine machinery and agricultural machinery. Towards the development of high pressure, high flow speed and high power, the problems of vibration and noise are very serious. The effective control of vibration and noise in hydraulic equipments becomes very important and urgent. Pressure pulsation in the pipeline is one of the most important sources of vibration and noise in hydraulic equipments. The pressure pulsation is harmful in most cases. To develop a device that can attenuate the pressure pulsation in pipelines is so urgent that it can improve the performances of the hydraulic equipments and the work environment.The attenuation characteristics of the pressure pulsation attenuator is researched in this paper, according to frequency method and computational fluid dynamics simulation. The design criterion of the pressure pulsation attenuator is concluded. Four prototypes of the pressure pulsation attenuator are developed for the experimental study. The experimental result shows that the prototypes can attenuate pressure pulsation in hydraulic pipelines effectively, and the hydrodynamic performance is also well. The main thesis reads as follows:In chapter 1, the purpose and significance of the paper are briefly introduced. Then the paper states the development and products of the pressure pulsation attenuator used in hydraulic systems, home and aboard. And the research contents of the project are proposed.In chapter 2, the dynamic analysis mathematical models of the basic pipelines are introduced. Considering of the load models, the mathematical models of the pressure pulsation attenuator used in hydraulic systems are established in the form of transfer matrixes. The evaluation method of the attenuation characteristics is proposed. In chapter 3, the CFD models of the pressure pulsation attenuator are established, and the setting of the simulation parameters is completed.In chapter 4, comparative analysis between mathematical models and CFD models is discussed. According to the results of comparative analysis, the parameter settings of the CFD simulation are optimized. Taking the CFD simulation as the principal means, the paper analyzes the influences of the structural parameters. The influences of the load models and installation location are researched.In chapter 5, the test rig of the pressure pulsation attenuator is designed, and the prototypes are also developed. The performances test program is also developed for the experiments. Regarding the design specifications, the attenuation characteristics and the hydrodynamic performance of the prototypes are tested.In chapter 6, some conclusions are given and the future work is put forward.
