In this paper, with the National High Technology Research and Development Program of China (863 Program) (No.2007AA04Z409) "Research on Technology of Space Environment Accelerated Life Test for Satellite Electrical Connector", took Y11P-1419 connector as object, reliability statistical model of electrical connector under comprehensive stresses of temperature and vibration was set up by analysis the failure mechanism. For the purpose of reliability growth, reliability design and reliability growth test on electrical connector were deeply researched.Firstly, the reliability research history and current situation was briefly introduced. The method and developing trends on reliability design and reliability growth test was briefly stated. The current research and problems of aerospace electrical connector were reviewed. The main research content of this paper was given eventually.Secondly, contact failure mechanism analysis was carried out on electrical connector which was based on the underlying comprehensive stresses. The failure physics equation was established, and the failure life distribution was educed.Consequently, the reliability statistical model was set up, which laid foundation for verifying reliability growth of electrical connector.Thirdly, for the purpose of electrical connector reliability growth, factors which caused electrical connector failure were deeply analyzed, and then some measures were proposed to the point. The feasibility analysis was carried out on these measures which combined with the actual situation. Finlay, the improvement program to achieve the purpose of electrical connector reliability growth was determined.Fourth, the test scheme on constant stressed accelerated life test was draw up by theory of uniformly orthogonal test design method.Reliability characteristic was estimated by the maximum likelihood method on before & after improvement electrical connector. By comparing to the result, the improvement measure on electrical connector is feasible. The objective of electrical connector's reliability growth is achieved.Finally, main results and conclusions of the paper was summarized|. The further research work was discussed.
