With the development of the city, the elevator has quietly into people's daily life. They provide people not only with comfortable, efficient services, but also unnecessary troubles or fears occasionally caused by malfunction. Sometimes, unprofessional or not-in-time treatment will lead to personal injury and irreparable damage to the family and society. Thus, the State Administration of Quality Supervision promulgated the "elevator Supervision and Inspection Rules" provides that:elevator rope tension deviation of the shares can't exceed 5%. Therefore, the balance of the elevator wire rope tension safety test on elevator is of great practical significance. In order to auto-detect the balance of the elevator cable tension, we discussed the morden methods and technology, established a remote data transmitting network based on GPRS, developed detecting terminal software as well as monitoring center software, to accomplish tension detecting of wire ropes on elevator. Following is our work:Firstly, This article describes the significance of detection of the elevator cable tension and discusses brief history of the development of detection technology, and also types, measurement principles, advantages and development trends of that. Analysis of the current problems in wire rope tension measurement is involved in this article, and also non-contact detection of elevator cable tension has been improved to enhance its achievability.Secondly, according to the principle of non-contact inspection, we designed and developed a corresponding sensor. Signal obtained from magnetic component is amplified and filtered and then transferred into terminal processor, which is mainly completed by the terminal processor ARM9 development board. The board is integrated S3C2440 core processor chip, flash memory modules, power management module, the external interface circuit and LCD display modules and other resources, to achieve the calculation and analysis of sensor signals. GPRS DTU is used to establish a remote wireless data transmission network which can send the test results to the monitoring center on-time.Finally, wo designed a man-machine communication interface on terminal processor by ADS. It has following functions:sensor signal in real-time acquisition, computing data, displaying test results, sending the result to the serial port to the DTU. TCP/IP protocol is burned in DTU, so that it can send data in the clear. We use VC++ to develop monitoring center software,which can monitor the corresponding port, receive data came from the GPRS network, and record the corresponding data in the database.After several field experiments, we can say that this remote elevator rope tension monitoring system designed in this article performs well. Most functions of it are accomplished.
