Rope widely used, its safety is very important. Analysis from the point of view of design, traditional security factors exist empirical and blindness. The safe coefficient of reliability can avoid these disadvantages to ensure the safety and reliability of wire rope. Therefore, it is necessary to study the reliability safety coefficient. Analysis from the angle of use, wire rope’s safety is associated with the use of the environment and the user’s experience. Therefore, it’s necessary to monitor the using wire rope. This article describes the traditional wire rope safety factor and the safety factor which is determined by the strength condition. The relationship between them is obtained. On this basis, the static load reliability-safety-factor and dynamic load reliability-safety-factor have been calculated. In the process of calculation, a new calculation method has been put forward, which is used to estimate the parameters of stress and strength. The concept of the degree of the heavy work is put forward, and it is associated with the working level. The 8 working levels and 6 reliability levels corresponding reliability safety coefficient have been calculated separately. Example calculation results analysis shows that, compared with traditional methods, using the method of reliability safety coefficient to choose the diameter of wire rope, the diameter decreased greatly at the same time satisfy the design requirements of reliability.Based on analysis the principle of wire rope tension detection, design a real-time monitoring system based on LabVIEW to monitor wire rope, and through the simulation test, proving that the real-time monitoring system of wire rope tension is feasible.
