The Study Of Children Tableware Modeling Design Based On The Semiotics

The purpose of product design is for people and not for others. Ultimate purpose of design is to solve the relationship between people and products, better communication with the products, and to provide people with a better lifestyle. The design and development children products should be from the needs of children. By conveying cultural values to satisfy children's syclogy, the products can make children live healthily. Children tableware is the key part of children products. The quality of the design influences the living of the children. So, author wants to have a study of this aspect, to interpret deeply the basic semiotics, and apply the semiotics to the design of children tableware, to look for the ways of the using Semiotics theory in the design of children tablewares.In this paper, the author wants to interpret deeply the basic semiotics from the theories of semiotics, and apply the semiotics to the design of children tableware. From the theories of semiotics, combining with Children's Cognitive Psychology, Consumer Psychology and Ergonomics, this paper interprets the physiological and psychological characteristics of the children, and discusses the application method of semiotics in children tableware design field. Firstly, talking about the symbols, semiotics and product semiotics, this paper aims to import semiotics theory in children tableware design, so as to grasp the essence of semiotics. Secondly, from the analysis of children tableware consumption, this paper aims to the characteristics of the children tableware consumption, the physiological and psychological characteristics of children and the diets, cognitive behavior and so on. The concept and classification of children tableware is leaded in with the children tableware as the design object. Then, combining with children tableware design cases, semiotics theory is brought in children tableware design, to analyze construction and encoding rules of children tableware modeling. Finally, by the theories of semiotics, this paper explores children tableware and the composition of the system on the children tableware signs. From the children tableware modeling symbols, color symbols and material symbols, basic design method and design principle are concluded.Preliminarily, children tableware modeling symbolic system is cycled out. And with the practice in the theoretical system of children tableware design, the author hopes to give designers of children table wares a reference and guidance.
