With rapid development and wide application of embedded technology and network technology, embedded systems with network technology has been focused nowadays, in the field of industrial control, monitoring system, intelligent home and other areas of research.The overuse, overload, insulation aging or poor contact of high voltage power equipment can produce local overheating. The hot spots monitoring system for electrical equipment, using network technology and embedded technology, can be used for remote monitoring for high voltage cabinet, cable connectors, switchgear and other hot spots. It is practical and effective in preventing blackouts and other economic losses of power system, due to overheating of lines and equipment.In power equipment hot spots monitoring systems, the information processor serves as an interactive platform for operator and the whole system. Reference to the latest embedded systems and network technology, on-site and remote access monitoring and management functions have been realized, which can help supervisors to view and manage anywhere, anytime.The server of hot spot monitoring system for electrical equipments, designed in this thesis, uses Microsoft Windows CE operating system as aim platform. Based on on-site monitoring and remote access needs analysis on the server side, considering the upcoming development of smart client technology, client-side monitoring program, the EVC and the SQLite embedded database are used to develop monitor management software on server-site, which achieves real-time status monitoring display, historical data analysis, system parameter settings and other functions. According to demand for network access, ISAPI server extension technology is applied for remote serial-port control, smart client database update service is developed based on smart client technology; In addition, A set of software tools for recognition and data conversion of engineering drawings are developed, which reduces manual maintenance workload generated by the system database. Components, having been implemented in this paper, have friendly user interface and stable performance.
