Auspicious pattern is an old, unique and beautiful flower in China's traditional art treasure. It is an art and symbolic art that is formed from the supplication to flourish, security, development, and signifies the wishes that people petitions beautiful life and kind blessing . In our country, the auspicious patterns are widely used in Ming and Qing dynasties, manifested each respects of people life such as food, clothes, and dwelling. The research of auspicious patterns has important theoretical and practical significance. On the one hand, through studying the various types of auspicious patterns, we can detect the life ideal and folk beliefs of Chinese people. On the other hand, the research of auspicious patterns can dig deeper into the cultural value behind them.Kang million manor as the Ming and Qing dynasties is the representative in north China traditionaldwelling houses. It has rigorous layout, luxurious carve and great momentums. The auspicious patterns in Manor represent auspicious culture of China northern folk architecture , its abundant auspicious pattern can be used in architectural ridge, eaves horn, column, the furniture and so on. Delicate carving, design precision and moderate simplify, rich color, and meaning massiness can basically reflect the outline of auspicious culture in the Ming and Qing dwellings. So it has high folk culture value and aesthetic value, expressing the family and the world view of people life in the central China and wishing to life ideals. In view of this, this paper chooses the auspicious image in Kang million manor as the research object, and tries to dig deeper into the underlying cultural value.The paper is divided into four parts. The first chapter basically summarizes the basic situation of Kang million manor. It introduces the historical causes, flourishing and decline process, architecture and decorative arts. The second chapter reviews the related literatures including the traditional auspicious patterns and the manor adornment art. Firstly, analyzing the origin and auspicious patterns of folk houses. Secondly, summarizing and analyzing the distribution, mould and subject of auspicious patterns in the manor adornment art. The third chapter focuses on the adornment art of Kang million manor displayed by auspicious patterns of folk beliefs. From life belief, life beliefs and personality beliefs three aspects, it analyzes some typical design, and draws a common theme: good luck! Moreover, lucky design shows increasing longevity, praying good and avoiding plagues, which are ideas about his life beliefs, people of faith, and family prosperity. The fourth chapter discusses the cultural heritage, cultural function and application of modern residence decorative arts that represent in the lucky design of adornment art. Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism thought, "nature and humanity" ideology have exerted profound impacts on the content of the auspicious patterns. Meanwhile, this kind of impact is not one-way, but an interaction and mutual fusion process. With the development of the times and the change of people psychology, auspicious patterns, as a kind of folk art form, will continue to play a role in the modern residence adornment art, but also face crises.
