In 2019,the Guanzhong Folk Art Museum(hereinafter referred to as Guanbo)was included in the list of historical buildings proposed to be protected by the Xi’an Municipal Government. With the gradual attention of the government to the inheritance and development of culture, the activation and utilization of historical and cultural resources, and its important role in urban and rural construction in recent years,it is worth in-depth discussion whether the identity attributes and cultural values of the Guanzhong Folk Art Museum, which carries rich intangible cultural heritage, should be redefined. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to clarify how the progress made by the Guanzhong Folk Art Museum in cultural inheritance after 40 years of development should be positioned; It reorganized the bricks and tiles collected in the Weibei area into an ancient residential building group, and then evolved into a building complex covering more than 500 acres today. On this basis, this paper attempts to explore the inheritance value of the architecture of the Guanzhong Folk Art Museum from the perspective of cultural characteristics, and further investigates the intangible culture transmitted by the current museum architecture, and how it carries out cultural inheritance through the shaping of folk culture scenes and the display and utilization of ancient residential buildings. The intangible culture transmitted by the architecture of the Guanzhong Folk Art Museum is mainly reflected in four aspects: first, the humanistic and historical information and regional cultural characteristics transmitted by ancient houses; The second is to build a folk culture scene that echoes the ancient folk houses;Third, the craftsmanship spirit in the process of relocation and construction of ancient houses is conducive to the dynamic inheritance of ancient buildings; The fourth is to display and use the building to inherit intangible cultural heritage. The characteristics of these four cultural inheritances are also strong evidence of the inheritance value of the architecture of the Guanzhong Folk Art Museum. In this study, from the whole to the part, the above four points are demonstrated and presented in a total-score structure.Firstly, starting from the historical evolution and construction and development of the Guanzhong Folk Art Museum, the process of change and the source of cultural relics are explored.Secondly, the current situation of cultural heritage and architectural composition of the Guanzhong Folk Art Museum is analyzed and studied, and this part focuses on the cultural connotation and characteristics of cultural inheritance of the museum. Then, through the analysis and study of the current situation of the museum’s architecture, the architectural layout and morphological characteristics of the museum are explored. Finally,it focuses on the ancient residential architecture group, analyzes and studies the construction of its cultural scene and the regional culture and home culture characteristics conveyed by the residential courtyard. The increasing development of AR technology has brought new possibilities for the visual display of architectural heritage, which can realize the binary overlap of ancient houses in geographical space and time! And this also depends on the consciousness and feat of the Guanzhong Folk Art Museum surpassing its contemporaries, coinciding with the pace of development and progress of the times, and future development is just around the corner. It is hoped that this research can make a small contribution to promoting cultural development and cultural inheritance. At the same time,it is also hoped that the research results can provide some useful reference and reference value for researchers and enthusiasts of traditional residential architecture and folk culture.
