With the rapid development of urban rail system in various cities, the railroad stations which connect the main passenger flow in the collecting and distributing centers inside and outside cities, have necessarily became the essential interchange spots of the construction of urban rail transit. The channel at interchange spot and the length and width parameters of the level play a key role in whether passengers could pass the interchange process smoothly.Compared with passengers in ordinary interchange stations, there are manifest differences in flow at interchange station connected with railway and urban rail transit. Many experts had made plenty of researches on urban rail transit interchange station. But these researches were all based on ordinary interchange station passenger flow. This paper made deeply research on the passenger flow at interchange station between the railway and urban rail transit, aiming at its evidently characters.The issue chose Beijing railway station as the object of study, considering the sex and age of passengers and combining the data on the spot, and analyzed the passengers free speed distribution on different traffic facilities at the interchange station. Combined with passenger service level of traffic, the paper gave the functions of passenger occupy space on the traffic facilities and analyzed the per capita occupy space.Using the analyzed spatial characteristics of passenger flows, this paper pointed out its travelling time function to make it adjust the interchange traffic facilities better. Then the article deeply analyzed the deducing process of the functions.At last, the paper built the model of channel and elevator (stairs) at Beijing station with VISSIM and the influence that the different designing parameters of the traffic facilities at interchange station made on the passenger traffic time. The research conclusion can be served as reference for the future designing of the traffic facilities of the urban rail transit interchange station.
