Following people's increasing demand on the safety, comfort and reliability of the vehicle, social activities more frequent, the vehicle is not only for transportation, but also the room for working, study, living and the symbol of social status. The window regulator of vehicle door system is one of the function components used rather frequently by passenger and driver. So the convenience of operation and reliability of the window regulator will affect the quality of people's activities inside the vehicle. The window regulator is a kind of moving part, involves a lot of matching parts from other systems. Its related noise factor that could affect the operation effect is complicated, so it contains very important realistic value to conduct research and discussion on the window regulator mechanism of vehicle door system.The quality of JMC's automotive products get better and better following the development of the firm itself. But often the problems could not be avoided regarding the window regulator system of vehicle door at the stage of development and beginning of production. So it becomes the first task for the design engineers how to solve the failure as soon and well as possible, increase the inherent quality of product, keep the window regulator can be operated safely, reliably and conveniently by the user. Therefor, the researching the structure of the window regulator system, conducting dynamic simulation analysis and check on the window regulator model by applying CAD software, analyzing and evading the noise factors that could affect the normal operation of the window regulator in the beginning of development can decrease the frequency of trial production, shorten the cycle time of development, keep low rate of failure so as to improve customer's satisfaction.Hereinafter, the writer focuses on the discussion of design requirement of vehicle door and door accessories and structure of the window regulator of vehicle door, explanation of analysis on failure factors of the window regulator, calculation of structure and dimension, performance requirement and product modeling etc. Aiming at the design and layout of the window regulator in the vehicle door, the writer suggests the design means how to improve the structural design and performance from the angle of dynamic simulation and layout verification. This subject belongs to the category of application technology in vehicle design sphere, it puts importance on the analysis and study of practical problems, targets solving the issues emerging during the project development and mass production. This subject is based on JMC's experience deriving from the development and production of the window regulators former, takes the development process of the window regulator of a certain vehicle development project in JMC for example. Content can be generalized below:1) The structure of the window regulator. Nowadays,the manual window regulator equipped with cranking handle becomes lesser and lesser, and tends to be replaced by the powered one operated through button type switch, it is called powered window regulator. The powered window regulator consists of widow regulator and its motor. Normally, gear and rocker type or cable and pulley type are used for the regulator.2) Failure factors analysis of regulator: To get better result for the newly developed window regulator, At the beginning of design, the designer needs to analyze the boundary conditions and failure modes related to the window regulator so as to use the experience from former project for reference, take relative details into account fully when make the material structure design and layout of the regulator, so that the design defect could be minimized to the most, improve the quality of final product.3) Design of regulator. The layout of regulator shall be fixed after relative body accessories get fixed. After confirming the structure and pattern initially, the designer needs to conduct the structural design for matching the links of regulator and motor, calculation of power matching and design of position and layout.4) Modeling and dynamic simulation. Through theoretical analysis, the 3D model of structure details of regulator needs to be built. Then the dynamic simulation analysis can be conducted by applying DMU module of software"CATIA", so that design could be optimized, layout could be verified before freezing design and trial production.For now, this model of window regulator has passed all the bench tests, gotten into trial production phase and very good result in the service on JMC vehicles.
