The Pendulum Impact Testing Machine For Steering

The paper developed a pendulum impact testing machine. The impact testing machine is mainly used for dynamic mechanical properties testing and anti-destructive testing for the steering assembly. The mechanical system of testing machine adopts the impact type of pendulum acceleration of gravity. It adopts optical electricity encoder to control the pendulum angle degree of oscillation, and it utilized two-stage reduction gear and powder clutch to rule the movement of the pendulum. The testing machine adopts high-speed sensor and high-speed data acquisition device to make the high-speed measuring and record overall the testing. It used computer to display the record of force and torque variation vs. the time in the wholly impact procedure. This paper developed the control-system software of testing machine with VB6 and NI's graphical controller. The software has the strong ability of graphics processing, it can magnify and move the real-time graphic; it also can store the measurement data with database, in addition, it can query and maintain the previous data at any time.
