AZ-30598 brake pump is an important part of the 100 Series Combines' braking system, and its working condition is normal or not will impact the use of harvester performance and driving safety directly. Leakage of the brake pump is the main factor that be found during long-term using process. How to prevent the leakage is the key to solving this problem. In this paper, AZ-30598 brake pump leaking problem is analyzed and studied in more detail. The original structure of the brake pump is improved redesigned. The problem of leakage is solved through the practical application. The main study working including following aspects:1. According to AZ-30598-type brake pump's sealing structure, a rubber O-ring seal forms and characteristics are introduced, and O-ring rubber material properties are studied.2. Rubber O-rings sealing mechanism is analyzed and studied. According to force balance analysis of the rubber O-rings, a whole formation process of displacement and its impact factors are studied. The Rubber O-ring seal theory is further improved by analyzing the contact pressure on the sealing close contact surface of rubber O-ring under the state of self-sealing improve. Some facts that affect the rubber O-ring sealing performance were got and the calculation of leakage was also discussed here.3. The key of leakage calculation is how to obtain the maximum oil film pressure gradient. Using finite element method (ANSYS software) can get the oil film pressure distribution, and then obtain maximum pressure gradient. In this way, the theoretical calculation of leakage problem can be solved by computer simulation.4. AZ-30598 brake pump's seal structure is improved redesign, the static and dynamic experiments experimental verification shows that:the improved brake pump seal structure, which is not leaking, is superior to the original structure.
