The advantages of power line carrier communication that no need for cabling, covering a wide range and connection conveniently make the power line carrier have a broad application prospects. Low-voltage power line is only to provide electric energy of power frequency not a specialized communication channel, so the channel environment is very bad. There is need to test the performance of the power line carrier communication system.In this paper, we first have analyzed the transmission characteristics of the power channel. After introducing the anti-jamming principle of spread spectrum communication, we used a dedicated modem PL3105 chip coupled with external support circuit to construct a low-voltage power line carrier communication system. On realization we take the research method that uses a combination of theoretical analysis and experimental tests. First of all, based on theoretical analysis, we have designed the hardware circuit of every module, and then through the experimental test, we slightly adjusted the circuit parameters to make it a better simulation of power line communication environment. Finally, we have tested the communication distance, error rate, impact of human disturbance of the whole system, and obtained a large number of measured data. Test results shows that the designed system is running well, and the test data provides basis and reference for the development of power line carrier communication related products.
