The ultimate bearing capacity is one of the primarily problems related to the safety and economic of bridge structure. With the increasing traffic volume, in particular the increasing phenomenon of overloading vehicles, many reinforced concrete arch bridge has varying degrees of defects and damage, Therefore, research on ultimate strength seems crucially important. Arch rib as the main load-bearing component, the bearing capacity calculation and evaluation has the decisive meaning for the arch carrying capacity assessment after an injury. Research results show that the corrosion of steel bar as the most important factor affecting the bearing capacity of reinforced concrete arch ribs, the bearing capacity analysis of corroded arch rib is the basis of injury arch bridge carrying capacity assessment.This paper reviewed the development of reinforced concrete arch bridge and the research actualities of the bridge stability, combined with the west traffic construction science and technology project, and used the method of accelerating corrosion in the laboratory making a number of different corrosion rate of circular arch elements (a piece of comparative test arch rib and 3 pieces of corrosion arch rib) , to test the ultimate bearing capacity. The experiment was to study the corrosion of reinforced concrete arch rids'mechanics feature, failure mode, the formation of fractures and the law of development in the process of gradually loaded to failure, and to analyze the main factors of the capacity of corroded arch rid was gradually degenerated, then, summed up the corrosion of reinforced concrete arch deflection curves and ultimate load variation .Results of the deflection of reinforced concrete arch curve and the variation law of load capacity.Finally, Based on the basis theory of arch stability analysis, this paper proposed the finite element modeling of reinforced concrete arch rid contains unit selection and modeling method, set up a degradation model of reinforced concrete arch bearing capacity, and compared the model results with experimental results.It's an important tool which combined the experimental method and the finite element method to quantitative analysis of the injury structures. The result of internal force analysis of corrosion arch ribs in this paper , will be provide basis for the repair and maintenance of reinforced concrete arch bridge.
