At present, China's development is moving from large-scale highway construction phase to maintenance phase, in the highway pavement maintenance phase, if we want to achieve scientific, efficient and economical maintenance operations, to ensure smooth highway, to meet both road users and road managers's demand, preventive maintenance management is very nessary.First, this paper summarizes main types of the early damage to our highway, performance data types, as well as commonly used detection method.Second, we review pavement performance evaluation model at home and abroad, combined with technology assessment of highway standards and road grading of domestic and international conservation agencies, and put forward for the use of preventive maintenance performance evaluation criteria from structural strength of the road, damaged condition, driving quality, safety, performance and integrated evaluation of the performance. And pavement structure strength index and pavement condition index as the primary road standard, that is, the applicability of the standard preventive maintenance. The crack width, rut depth, international roughness index, lateral force coefficient, aging index as the secondary road standards, that is, the standard preventive maintenance of the decision-making.Then, through a systematic analysis of various performance prediction model, for highway pavement performance of our test data are scarce, gray theory is made use of to establish pavement performance prediction model.Finally, by reviewing domestic and international road maintenance decision-making methods, engineers and managers from the conservation point of view, according to preventive maintenance based on performance evaluation criteria, considering the conservation policy of the main road performance parameters, different types of tree damage are presented based on asphalt pavement conservation. And the use of decision tree method the northern section of Beijing-Zhuhai Expressway in Guangdong has developed conservation measures.
