With the development of social economy and the progress of automotive technology, the demand of oil level sensors is increasing. Oil level sensors are working properly, not only can let engines are in good working condition, also can let drivers know the exactly amount of fuel, reduce unnecessary trouble. At present, more and more people research on oil level sensors for improvement of induction and display. But the function test methods of oil level sensors are studied less. Therefore, it is of great value to research automatic function test for oil level sensors.According to the work principle of the oil level sensors and combined with oil level sensors function test, we proposed the oil level sensor function test automatic design method. Using the stepper motor subdivided technology to realize the full range of oil level sensors test. Using ARM LPC2103 processor chip as the main control chip, realizes the stepping motor controlling, data acquisition, data storage and the upper computer communications etc. Using VB language to develop the upper computer interface testing software to achieve the control of the lower computer, receive data from the lower computer, determine test results and set system parameters etc.The proposed of oil level sensor function test automatic method realizes the dynamic process of sampling to achieve a dynamic performance test the whole amount and can accurate oil level sensor more function tests. The test method in order to ensure the quality also can reduce the testing time and improve the efficiency.
