In the traditionalde sign and analysis on steel frames,the beam-to-column connection whose behavior afects steel frames overall performance was assumed as rigid or pinned,which couldn't reflect the actual fact. Thus, studying on beam-to-column connections for semi-rigid character in steel frame is very important and meaningful, because it can provide theoretic foundation and reference for practical projects in selecting the beam-to-column connection forms in steel-frame systems.In this paper 3-D nonlinear finite precise numeircal simulation expeirment has been done for this kind of joints.In the analysis the element SOLID45 with eight nodes,contact element CONTA174 and TARGE170 are used. Through applies nonlinear (material, geometry and finite contact)element method to analyze the behaviors of top and seat angle with double web angle connections under static load。Contact problems between angles and column flange suface,angles and beam flange surfaces, Bolt nuts and neighborhood plates,bolt shanks and bolt holes,are simulated really. Imitate the mode of the semi-rigid steel frame with the connections of top-seat and web angles, analyze the motive function of the semi-rigid steel frame in earthquake. Acquire and study the character of the mode, distortion and the P-Δcurve, get the character of the stress and strain mutative curve. The results show that the semi-rigid steel frame with top-seat and web angles has a good hysteretic behavior in earthquake. The plastic of the deformation starts from the top-seat angles, the character of the semi-rigid embody on the top-seat angles.
