| There have been many results on the study of semi-rigid joints, not only in theories but also in experiments, but there are not many results on the study of the overall performance of steel frame with semi-rigid connections, neither in theories nor in experiments.The article studies the stress and strain performance of the steel frame, which with top and seat angles with double web angles semi-rigid connections, under the cyclic loading. On the basic of the study on the semi-rigid joints, with the ANSYS analysis software and the pseudo-static experiment, the article reviews the destroy modality, distortion characteristics, load-displacement hysteretic-curve, ductility ability of the steel frame, the stress and strain characteristics of the joints.It conveyed by the analysis that the steel frame with top and seat angles with double web angles semi-rigid connections has good ductility ability under cyclic loading. The joints yield before beam-column, which advances the ductility of the frame distinctly. It radically solves the limitations of the steel frame with rigidity connections, which joints have bad ductility and will brittle rupture easily. The joints of top and seat angles with double web angles have good nonlinear distortion nature and energy consuming ability, the most important facets that influence the ductility of the joints are top and seat angles and bolts, the rigidity of the angles should be well designed. |
