In recent years, with all kinds of new regulation and protection devices, new high_voltage power transmission equipments, generator set and its control system and new power electronic devices putting into operation, demands that ETSDAC (Electro-magnetic Transient Simulator for DC and AC Power System) in ADPSS (Advanced Digital Power System Simulation) can build these new devices and meet user needs of power system simulation. One of the effective ways that meet this demand is UD modeling method.In order to effectively improve the shortages, for example, the reliability, the flexibility, the extensibility, the maintainability, the simulation efficiency and so on, of UD modeling method that are included in other simulation softwares, this paper presents a novel kind of UD modeling method based on Object-Oriented Programming (OOP). This modeling method analysises basic function blocks and UDM (User_Defined Model) which is made up of basic function blocks, summarizes the common character among them and abstracts a base class called "father" class which can expand all kinds of basic function block class and UDM class. This paper also introduces the software interface design of UDM program and the function of automatic initial value calculation.In order to get the optimal calculation sequence, this paper also introduces a type of topological algorithm which can find out all Strongly Connected Components (SCC) of the directed graphs, avoid invalid and repeated calculation largely and improve the simulation efficiency.Finally, this paper presents a UDM simulation example of Thyristor Controlled Serials Compensation (TCSC) in Electro-Magnetic Transients Program (EMTP). Compared with the simulation results of the same model in EMTP, Our method gives the same simulation results, which proves the correctness and effectiveness of our modeling method.
