A business street is the most exciting place of the city streets. It embodies the life and vitality of the city, and is the place where most exchanges happen frequently. Today, consumers are no longer satisfied with the material possessions. They turn forward to get more spirit meet. The requirements of shopping space converted from the shopping experience to meet the leisure life. Therefore, understanding about the design of shopping space cannot remain in the service level for commodity circulation, but to achieve broader dissemination purposes, to meet the require of the commercial space, entertainment, and experience of life. In this spirit, this paper analyzes the process, status and conditions of the development about shopping space. On this basis, analysis the morphological characteristics of recreational space in shopping center. And consider different forms, namely, department stores, shopping malls, pedestrian malls and new leisure and shopping district, explore the design of recreational space, respectively . As a result, analyze and summarize the guidelines about how to design the space for leisure in shopping center——consider of overall, public, interactive, artistic, flexibility, privacy and personalization.
