University Campus Planning And Design Research On The Road Design And Implementation

In university campus, the road system has a crucial role in the structural function. It has a decisive impact on the overall campus layout, pedestrian flow, transportation of logistics and information transmission. With economic developing and education system reforming, campus renovation, expansion and off-site development of a new university campus has emerged as the main trends. Meanwhile, some new problems have emerged in campus road traffic organization, for example, bad convergence of the entrance of the campus roads and urban roads cause campus security and environmental issues; the campus motor vehicles cause interference on the pedestrian, as well as parking spaces shortage problem. The campus square and road, composing campus road system should not only have the traffic function, but also should be the cordial and pleasant space of the University, providing a place for students and teacher-student interaction events.To address this a number of problems, this article will take campus road traffic organization, campus road system planning and design, and ecological aspects of road as a major study direction. The article first analyzes the existing problems and current solutions in planning and designing of campus road, as well as the functions and features of university campuses road traffic organization, then proposes distinction of campus road functions and the point of view of ecological planning and design on campus roads; at last, combining with my own practical activities, analyzes the planning and designing of road projects in practical application of the tender.This article focuses on:1. because of no specification of the current road system in university campus, combining with research and practice, this article will give recommended value for the indicators, which will help university campus road planning and designing.2. with the continuous expansion of the size of university campus, the vehicle road should be the main road links between the functional areas; the traffic organization methods in road functional areas should be: on foot traffic as the main way supllemented by bicycle transportation and campus public traffic.3. campus road landscape planning and designing elements and steps in building eco-campus.
