The university campus transportation plan theory and the design method takeimportant place of the university campus overall plan and the design, with theexpansion of the university campus space, they are equivalent to some cities andtowns, the accompanying university campus transportation planning theory anddesign method has been missed. The university campus transportation planning anddesign borrow ideas from more mature urban transport planning theory and designmethod, and the city traffic characteristics are different from university campus, thereare lack of planning and design method applicable the university campus trafficcharacteristics to guide the engineering practice; because the foreign universitycampus is open design, which itself has been integrated into the surrounding cityenvironment. When the university campus plans and carries on the consideration withthe urban planning, and because the foreign university campus building more stableperiod after the expansion, the more is the rapid growth of the university campusexpansion, and planning concepts, land use systems are quite different. Thedomestic literature for the theoretical study of university campus traffic often justfocus on the part of the university campus traffic, because the university campustraffic is just as the system of research which is often not comprehensive, someplanning for the university campus traffic theory just tell us what to do, and no papergives support their views of some examples, there are no guarantee that the theorywhich is preciseness and comprehensive.Therefore this article carries on the research analysis with the university campustransportation characteristic and the transportation demand, and synthesizes all kindsof university campus examples. Separately from the road plan and the design method,traffic signals’ design as well as the parking facility plans which these four aspects toobtain, and hopes to provide a complete set of theoretical system and design supportfor the university campus transportation planning theory and design method, andsome reference for the guidance of engineering practice.By analyzing the link between the overall urban planning and urban transportplanning, the paper provides the research mentality for immediately between theuniversity campus road traffic plan and the university campus overall plan relation, tosupply reasonable road planning between the different functional partition of theuniversity campus, and the summarization about different scale university campusappropriate space layout, study between the green landscape and the road planning layout methods among the some different scale of university campuses.The article carries on the classification according to the differe nt transportationlocalization with university campus path,and provides the design method for thedifferent category path’s cross section. It also takes on the network of road area ratio,density of road network and road grade for example contrastive analysis, andaccording to the different functional partition division in the planning of road networkprovide different functional areas of the density of road network. Regarding therecommended reference appropriate length and width values of vehicle roads, bicycleroads, and walk roads.With the questionnaire survey, the article analies the the traffic signal demand inthe university campus journey, and the university campus traffic informationaccording to the size of demand is divided into three categorie s, access from outsidetoward in university campus journey guidance to destination order which divides thetraffic signal design into3levels: the first-level traffic signal, the second-level trafficsignal, the third level of traffic signals, and choose the three levels of acceptabletraffic sign wind bracing. Finally, by observing the identifiable effect with trafficsigns before and after improvement, and find on the map to select the appropriate pathand measuring the time indicator, the obtained experimental data analysis, and verifiesthat the provided method is effective, necessity, application.According to the university campus each partition function of vehicle andbicycle park characteristics, the analysis of parking demand, and gives universitycampus teaching office area and life leisure area suitabler bicycle parking index, aswell as taking into account the factors which affecting bicycle parking demandforecasting methods; and also gives the appropriate teaching office area and culturaland sports area suitabler vehicle parking index, as well as in the scale of differentuniversity campus suited parking layout.This paper clarifies the difference between the university campus planning anddesign and urban planning and design on the basis, it carries on the diagnosis to theuniversity campus transportation characteristic as well as the transportation demand.The study of university campus transportation planning theory and design methodswill have similar spatial scale and spatial layout o f the university campus to providethe appropriate technology recommended index value and university campus roadcross-section of the road planning,the after improvement traffic signal preliminarydesign form, the university campus various functional partition bicycle parkingdemand forecasting methods and appropriate on the match index, and appropriate vehicle built with the indicators and parking layout.
