Research On Relativity Between Urban Public Facility And City Image

City characteristic is gradually faded due to accerlation of urbanization. Solving problem of city establishment and development with city image strategy will be beneficial to design of city space environment from overall vision.This thesis aims to research relation between design of urban public facility and city image with method of comprehensive analysis, and analyse modeling of urban public facility design for hardware and software of city image, influence and demand of city image strategy on design thought and expression on urban public facility. besides, thought and counterplan of urban public facility design based on city image are actively discussed as well, procedure and method of urban public facility design based on city image are summarized.City image is composed of city hardware image and city software image. The hardware includes city shape, city space layout, city buildings, city roads, gardening & greening and environment. The software includes human behavior, fashion trend of people, city civilization, people activity and municipal government image, etc. Modeling of urban public facility for city image will be expressed from hardwares including city space image, city building image, city natural environment and softwares including city behavioral image, city history image and city economy and environment image, etc.City image multidimensionally affects urban public facility. On the one hand, it affects completeness, humanized configuration, formation of regional style, ecological construction and open management, etc; on the other hand, it affects expression of form, structure, working process, color, material and dimension, etc.Systematic arrangement of urban public facility, modeling language, decoration craft and quality orientation in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia takes a key role in building up the city image of "advanced city facility, international development view, high civilization and modern city life ", with study of Kuala Lumpur public facility based on city image, it is concluded as, function of Urban public facility should be people-oriented, visual landscape of city should be protected, decoration and modeling of Urban public facility should be diversified and unified. Urban public facility design based on city image shall have comprehensive design view of "generality"; regional culture characteristic of "theme"; aesthetic orientation of "artistry"; humanistic concern of "human nature", design program of "openness" and public management of "science".
