Because of its advantage at environmental quality, resources and location, suburban forest park gradually become the ideal place for leisure and get rapid development in recent years. Concerning the characteristics of suburban forest park, all we designer have to figure out is how to balance the development and protection.By analysis of plenty of literature data and field investigation data, combining with his own experience in suburban forest park planning, the author proposed that it is a efficient path to embody its humane and natural characteristics that creating vernacular poetic imagery in suburban forest park. This research which based on theories of landscape ecology, landscape esthetics and environment psychology, investigated the principle and method of creation of vernacular poetic imagery in suburban forest park in the perspective of multi-disciplines, and then conducted empirical research the overall planning of Yiling Forest Park as an example.(1)It has multiple practical significance to creating vernacular poetic imagery in suburban forest park. This project created vernacular poetic imagery through these six approaches:form circumstance, color circumstance, Sound circumstance, scent circumstance, flavor circumstance, and culture circumstance.Study of creation of vernacular poetic imagery in suburban forest park is still in its exploratory phase. There are still many problems in the construction and implementation process. This paper is to explore a new perspective of landscape planning of suburban forest park that make "the beauty of native" to be displayed in the landscape design of contemporary works. About the question of how to perfect and improve the theory of creation of vernacular poetic imagery in suburban forest park in practice, more volunteers are needed for finding a perfect answer.
