Traffic Characteristics Analysis And Development Strategy Research Of Bicycle In Big Cities

Along with quick urbanization and motorization developing, traffic congestion and environmental pollution turn to worse and worse, facing to the motorized not as we wish as, energy-saving bicycle traffic is favored by the community. What advantages dose bicycle have, and how to play its advantages mostly. We need to understand the characteristics of bicycle traffic objectively, and propose the practical strategies for its development. This is as a starting point of the studies undertaken.The research status of bicycles in the world is reviewed firstly to confirm the orientation and emphases of this thesis. Then, the current situation of domestic and international bicycle traffic is summarized. Consequently, analyze the characteristics of the bicycle travel and traffic flow, and summarize the Micro-macro factors that influence the development of bicycle transportation.Secondly, this article focuses on comparing the dynamic roadway area utilization, the time-space resources consumption and transportation efficiency between the bicycle traffic and other modes. To make the contents of the study more practical and convincing, the analysis in this chapter is based on the actual traffic survey. In line with the principle of "the fundamental purpose of urban transport is to achieve the movement of people, rather than the movement of vehicles", the paper integrate the traffic, stream and speed of bicycle, electric bicycle, car, bus, taxi respectively, and based on the flow of people to compare the bike with other transport modesLastly, design a questionnaire and carry out a small sample test survey, in order to analyze status and problem of bicycle transport in Beijing, and then combined with the travel time, trip distance resource consumption and other characteristics of bicycle which are analyzed above, summarize the advantages and disadvantages of the bike itself and the opportunities and threats the external environment brings for its development, with SWOT analysis models to analyze the development strategy of bicycle transport in the big cities of China, and put forward some beneficial tactics on Optimization of traffic and parking environment, cycling and public transport interchange and bicycle traffic management for bicycle development.
